Citroen Sweep Up The Van Awards

05/12/08

Citroën has swept the board at the UK’s Fleet Van Awards, with judges singling out Citroen for no less than three of the top honours.

The new Berlingo, which is set to arrive in Australia in early 2009, was voted outright Van of the Year and also scooped the Best Small Van award whilst the Nemo, set to be launch in Australia in late 2009, completed Citroën’s hat trick by winning the Best City Van award.

With an independent judging panel drawn from major fleet operators and other van experts, the Citroën Nemo and Berlingo gained their success in this year’s Fleet Van Awards against very strong competition, which included many new or revised models.

In a new Fleet Van Awards category, the Citroën Berlingo was the judges’ choice to become the first Van of the Year. The Berlingo’s Fleet Van Awards success is a product of its all-new design, which offers features unmatched by its
rivals, with good green credentials and an overall fleet package that the judges decided was unbeatable.

The Citroën Berlingo took on and beat very strong established competition to gain the Fleet Van Awards Best Small Van title. A choice of load lengths and its Extenso® multi-function dual passenger seat, tipped the balance to ensure the Berlingo’s success in this category.

In gaining the Fleet Van Awards Best City Van title, the Citroën Nemo was singled out by the judges as it offered the fleet sector more than its rivals – including the availability in the UK of a dual fuel (petrol/LPG) option and its longer warranty, which assured the Nemo’s success in this hotly contested sector.
