Impact protection
With an immensely strong body shell, including integral side impact bars which create a reinforced passenger cell, and a cut-off device for the fuel system on impact, the Berlingo is a robust performer. Active safety features such as ABS, ESP and rear park assist sensors help to avoid accidents, while the passive safety features such as air-bags, retractable steering column and anti-submarining seats, work to protect the occupants in the case of an unavoidable collision.
The Berlingo also features anti-submarining seats (seats swabs which resist inertia/traveling forward on impact). Head rests are height adjustable to minimize the effects of whip lash in accidents. Dual front airbags are now standard.
