The new C3 is fitted with the innovative panoramic Zenith windscreen, which dominates the car’s appearance from every forward angle. Unique to the market, this massive screen opens up new perspectives for driver and passengers.
Soaring 1.35 m from bonnet to roof, the panoramic Zenith windscreen is 36% bigger than a normal screen on an average five-door small car and the angle from the driver’s eye line to the top of the windscreen is a huge 108° instead of the segment average 28°.
Coupled with slim A-pillars, the curved glazed area offers unrivalled visibility – with obvious safety benefits – and gives occupants a truly panoramic view of the world. Progressive tinting across the top 25 cm of the screen ensures optimal protection from overhead sunlight. A sunblind, featuring two sun-visors, can easily be pulled forwards when driving in low-angle sun conditions.
The Zenith windscreen is Standard on the Exclusive specification only and not available on Seduction specification.
LED Daytime Running Lights
You’ll want to be seen in your C3 in more ways than one. So standard throughout the C3 range, LED daytime running lights increase your vehicle’s visibility on the road – especially important in New Zealand where the majority of vehicles on the road are silver or grey, or when the weather is overcast.
Special attention has been paid to the interior comfort of the C3 range. The fine materials and finish of the cabin ensure that both driver and passengers enjoy their journey in style.
Multiple techniques have been used to reduce road noise and other acoustic pollution, resulting in a peaceful ride. Pollen and odour filters are also used in the ventilation system to keep the cabin fresh and free from allergens.
For added safety the C3 Exclusive comes standard with a reversing camera with guidelines. This system is paired with the 7″ LCD screen mounted in the dash and gives you a clear view of what is behind when reversing.
This is further enhanced by the Reversing sensors which are standard across the C3 Range.
The C3 Exclusive comes with the eMyway satellite navigation system as standard, a rarity in the light car segment. With a 7″ LCD display, two voice options and New Zealand mapping featuring points of interest and petrol stations, this intuitive system will guide you gently to your destination.
Although the enjoyment you get from driving your C3 may well encourage you to take the long way home!
Standard across the range, the connecting box includes a USB port and 9mm headphone jack for your media devices, allowing you to play your favourite music through your iPod, MP3 player or even straight off a USB stick.
All models also come standard with a Bluetooth handsfree which synchronises your contacts, enabling you to call friends and family straight from the steering wheel mounted controls. If you have music stored on your bluetooth device you can also stream the music through the stereo which does away with the need for cables.
On the new Citroën C3 Seduction manual, the new PureTech engine (VTi 82) combines responsive performance with limited fuel consumption of 4.6 l/100km and CO2 emissions of just 107g/km.
The C3 Seduction and Exclusive automatic variants contain the 88kw 1.6 litre petrol engine (VTi 120), which efficiently delivers power when required.
Citroën has put the best of its technological expertise into the new C3 to deliver a remarkably comfortable suspension and an incomparably smooth drive.
The new Citroën C3 is fitted with MacPherson type suspension at the front and a flexible transverse beam at the rear, with variable electric power steering. These proven solutions are ideally matched to the vehicle’s characteristics. For a truly flawless ride, ESP is also standard across the range.
The automatic gearbox gives you a choice between automatic mode, which adapts the gearshift speed to your driving style, and sequential mode, which lets you change gears freely. This gearbox is available with the VTi 120 petrol engine.
The new Citroën C3 creates a new automotive experience with its Zenith windscreen. The exceptionally long 1,350 mm windscreen is a genuine technological feat that increases the forward field of vision by 80° upwards, as well as improving front 3/4 visibility.
With its curving design and slimmer pillars, the windscreen creates a sensation of unlimited high-definition vision, which is shared by all the passengers. Perfect for watching the scenery zip by.
While the exterior design of the new Citroën C3 is compact, the interior offers a unique panorama, creating a sense of total freedom for passengers: the road and the scenery become an integral part of the car.
The new Citroën C3 is incredibly light and airy. To channel the light flooding into the cabin, the Zenith windscreen features a progressive colour fade and a stiff blind (with two sun blinds) at the top.
Even in full sunlight, the new C3 is a pleasure to drive. And passengers can take advantage of the broad field of vision without having others see inside.
With its clean, taut lines, the new Citroën C3 makes a real statement. The dynamic front end, upper radiator grill surrounding the twin chevrons and the unique LED light signature all heighten the car’s elegant design.
Its strong personality is also revealed in the robust bonnet, which ends with the elegantly shaped boomerang lights. In short, the new Citroën C3 is every inch the eye-catcher.
The new Citroën C3 disproves the theory that bigger is better. One of the most compact vehicles in its class, it resists the current trend for supersizing, remaining under the 4m mark (3.94m long, 1.73m wide and 1.52m tall).
And its compact dimensions certainly don’t compromise comfort or boot volume, which again is one of the largest in its class. Plus with its turning circle of just 10.2m, the new C3 is ideally suited for urban driving.
The new Citroën C3 already stands as a benchmark for quality in its class.
A fact that is demonstrated by the surface treatment, gap and flush, the chrome trim on the door handles, weather seals and chrome tail pipe.
Echoing the exterior design, the interior styling of the new Citroën C3 is both elegant and dynamic. Smooth, taut curves form the air vents, instrument clusters, and multi-function screen.
The thermo-covered dash is underlined by a strip in Moondust grey or Piano black. Around the car, touches of chrome and lacquer work with the subtle and harmonious trim details to give the cabin a unique, elegant look.
Climb on board the new Citroën C3 and discover a cabin dedicated to driving. The driving position is an invitation to travel with its high-mounted hooded instrument cluster, sculpted steering wheel and digital dial.
You can give the road your full attention, with all the necessary driving information available at a glance. The central console is within easy reach. Comfortably seated in your unique driving position, all you want to do is drive.
The new Citroën C3 combines compact exterior dimensions with interior space. The generously sized cabin easily accommodates five adults.
To develop this intelligent architecture, the designers called upon all their creative skills.
Features worth noting include a non-intrusive glovebox freeing up leg room for the front passenger, “slim” front seats providing more leg room at the rear, and raised seats freeing up space under the seats for the feet of rear passengers.
Boot and Storage
A car for everyday use, the new Citroën C3 combines an exceptionally large 300-litre boot with 2/3-1/3 split/fold rear seats. With the backrests folded, the load length totals 1.19m and the removable parcel shelf can be stored easily at the back of the boot.
The new Citroën C3 naturally features extensive storage (glovebox, door, central console and fascia compartments, etc.). It can also be fitted with a central armrest with two cubbies or a drawer under the front driver seat.
Onboard acoustics are a key factor in comfort. The new Citroën C3 delivers benchmark performance in this area. It damps out vibrations, engine noise, wind noise and road noise to create a quiet onboard ambience.
The new C3 addresses soundproofing and noise damping at source, in particular in the engine compartment and doors, to reinforce the cocoon effect.
By day and by night, the new Citroën C3 is bathed in a bubble of light: natural light from its many windows, and artificial light from the light sources placed around the passenger compartment.
An ambient lighting system and dimmer, with light sources in the central console cubby and near the dashboard at the front, contribute to the soft, welcoming night-time lighting.
The Exclusive variant also comes with the Visibility pack which includes three white LEDs to light up the central console area.
If you want to travel with your own music library, the Connecting Box lets you connect your MP3 player or USB key directly.
For “go anywhere” music enthusiasts, the eMyWay navigation system with its maps of New Zealand and large colour screen comes in very useful, as does the Bluetooth hands free kit, six loudspeakers and jack/USB ports.
For a more relaxed drive, the new Citroën C3 boasts a full range of intelligent driving aids. For example, in the Exclusive model, the reversing camera – which is connected to the eMyWay navigation system – starts automatically as soon as you select reverse gear, making reversing manoeuvres much easier. This reversing camera works together with an alarm that warns you of any nearby obstacles.
For a more economical – and therefore more ecological – drive, the C3 Seduction manual model features a gear change indicator which analyses your driving style and tells you the best time to change up.
The new C3 also comes with cruise control/speed limiter,as standard. Automatic rain-sensitive windscreen wipers and automatic headlights are also features in the Exclusive model.
Reinforced Body structure
In the event of impact, passengers on the new Citroën C3 enjoy maximum protection.
The cabin has been made stronger to prevent objects penetrating into the survival cell, and to allow other “non-inhabited’ areas to crumple.
As with all Citroën models, safety is a priority in the new C3. All passengers enjoy full protection, with six airbags as standard: two front airbags and side airbags at the front and two curtain airbags built into the roof.
For complete safety, the steering column on the new Citroën C3 also retracts in the event of front impact.
High Performance Brakes
The new Citroën C3 sets the highest standards in active safety with, for example, its high-performance brakes. Standard ABS and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) are combined with Emergency Braking Assistance (EBA) and automatic hazard warning lights.
ESP (Electronic Stability Programme) is also standard. This function keeps the car on course and works with traction control to stop the wheels skidding.
The new Citroën C3 also sets high standards in child safety: To install child seats, the two rear side seats are fitted with Isofix anchorage points as standard on all versions.
The new Citroën C3 also comes standard with electric door and window locks. Your children are clearly in good hands.
The VTi 82 engine available in the new Citroën C3 Seduction Manual belong to the PureTech range of petrol engines.
They feature the very latest technology for a more pleasant drive, reduced running costs and improved protection of the environment!
Compared with the preceding generation, your new engine is just as, or even more, powerful, while slashing fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions by about 25%.
The new Citroën C3 has matured without gaining weight.
This performance is the result of extensive studies on weight control, with designers employing every possible angle for making the car lighter.
With its controlled weight and optimised aerodynamics, the new Citroën C3 ensures intelligent management of fuel consumption and thus CO2 emissions.
